Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I store my raw pet food?
A: We suggest storing your food in the freezer and defrosting in the refrigerator overnight.

Q: How long will my food last once opened?
A: It will last 3-4 days in the refrigerator once defrosted. Once given in a bowl at feeding time, it should be consumed within four hours.

Q: What is its shelf life?
A: Rawfection can stay in your freezer for up to a year (please check our best if used by date).

Q: How should I thaw my raw food?
A: Raw food may be thawed overnight in the refrigerator or on the counter at room temperature for 3-4 hours.

Q: Do I need to cook it?
A: We recommend feeding it raw to preserve the ingredients’ natural digestive enzymes and other important nutrients. Cooking destroys nutrition and makes it harder for our pets to digest their food.

Q: Can I microwave it?
A: We highly recommend feeding it raw.

Q: Do you use any preservatives?
A: Absolutely NOT, every ingredient in our product is all natural.

Q: How much and how often should I feed my pet?
A:
Always consult your vet before changing your pet’s food. Dogs: start by feeding your dog 2.5–3% of their body weight; 2X a day is suggested (1 cup = 1/2 lb). Puppies: 3% of their body weight, 3X a day. Cats & Kittens: start by feeding your cat 2.2–2.5% of their body weight; 2X a day is suggested (1 cup = 1/2 lb). Alternatively, cats may eat 2-3 TBSP periodically throughout the day. When they’re done eating, store in the refrigerator. Adjust feeding according to your pet’s weight, energy and activity level. Always provide access to fresh water.

Q: Can I mix kibble and raw?
A: A rotation of both is suggested during the transition to raw. We suggest transitioning to feeding straight raw to receive the maximum health benefits, but a rotational diet may be followed permanently.

Q: Where is your food made/manufactured?
A: Our food is manufactured in California. Most food is grown in the USA but depending on season, may be grown elsewhere as needed.

Q: Is your food USDA Certified?
A: Absolutely, we only want the best for our pets. Our food is human grade and uses ingredients found in many of the high scale restaurants throughout California.

Q: Do you inspect for food safety and quality?
A: Yes, our food is manufactured in a USDA Facility and is FDA certified.
